Mr. Schweigert has been to Nina Harris before and has collaborated with teams of teachers and therapists on utilizing the Communication Matrix Report to target specific interventions and strategies in working with students who have severe communication disorders.
Mr. Schweigert will present a Parent Workshop on Sept. 19th at 6:00 p.m. and again on Sept. 20th at 10:00 am. Refreshments will be served. Child care will be offered for the Sept. 19th Parent Workshop. We hope to see you there.
Nina Harris Adopt-A-Class Program
Nina Harris ESE Center has implemented a program called “Adopt-A-Classroom,“ and we are very excited to share it with you. This program provides parents, businesses, and members of our community the opportunity to join our school family. The rising costs of supplies and equipment have forced our teachers to spend their own money on educational materials for their classrooms. The Adopt-A-Classroom Program is a way to assist the teachers and enhance the education of our students.
Any business, individual, or group of individuals can sponsor or “adopt” a classroom with a donation of any amount. $150.00 is the standard donation. The donor can select a specific classroom or let us choose one for them. You can adopt as many classrooms as you wish – our goal is to have every class adopted!
Once a classroom is adopted, 100 percent of your donation goes into that classroom for academic enrichment. The teacher is given the opportunity to determine how best to spend the money in his or her classroom. For example, some teachers may decide to purchase computer software, books, visuals, or supplies. Others may choose to combine their money to purchase an item that can be used by a number of students. All donations are tax deductible.
Your participation in the Adopt-A-Classroom Program is very much appreciated. All sponsors will receive a thank you letter from the classroom, a sign next to the classroom door, their name will be presented on the school marquee and a thank you in our school newsletter will go out to all students. We are confident that you will find the Program a worthwhile investment for yourself, your organization, and most importantly, the children who benefit.
THANK YOU! – The students, faculty, staff and administration at Nina Harris ESE Center send their sincerest thanks and appreciation to the following for their generosity in participating in the Adopt-A-Classroom Program.
