Mr. Carlmon Jones
Hello Trojan families and friends,
Welcome to John Hopkins Middle School, Home of the Trojans. My name is Carlmon Jones and I am the proud Principal of this great school. I am a lifelong resident of St. Petersburg and a product of Pinellas County Schools. I attained my bachelor’s degree in Business Management from North Carolina Central University, and a master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Nova Southeastern University.
Prior to my appointment as principal of this proud school, I previously was a math teacher at Lakewood High School, an assistant principal at both Dixie Hollins High School and Pinellas Park Middle Schools respectively, and the Talent Acquisition Manager for Pinellas County Schools.
I am a firm believer of the phrase “if you believe it, you can achieve it”. We are continuing to assemble a dynamic instructional, support, and administrative team that cares for our scholars as individuals, wants to make a positive difference in their lives, and is committed to executing this belief. We provide a standards-based curriculum to all scholars using a collaborative team approach. We encourage our parents to be an integral part of our team by monitoring their performance and staying in communication with our teachers and administrators. At the end of our scholars’ experience at John Hopkins Middle, we commit for our children to be prepared for the next grade level both academically and socially.
If you have any questions or suggestions on how to make John Hopkins Middle a better school, I would like to hear from you. I also strongly encourage you to join our parent support organizations: 1) the Parent, Teacher, Student Association (PTSA); 2) the School Advisory Council (SAC); and/or 3) the Magnet Enrichment Booster Club.
Respectfully,
Carlmon Jones
