Media Center

  • Students and Teachers may access the Media Center any time during the school day.    The physical contents of our library media center may be accessed via Follett Destiny Discover in your student’s Clever.  Here you will find the location of physical books, electronic books via Overdrive, Sora, and MackinVia.  You may also find other resources through the Databases Tab and search the World Wide Web via a safe search engine under the websites tab.  There are many valuable resources available within your student’s Clever!   The Media Center is a busy and wonderful place to visit.  If you are interested in volunteering, there always projects going on that we could use help with!  Reach out to your Library Media Technology Specialist, Mrs. Carver at carverk@pcsb.org. 

    In keeping with the selection and maintenance of library media materials parents are always welcome to come check out the physical contents of our library here at Skyview.  You can always access our card catalog, Destiny Discover, in your child’s clever or here at

    House Bill 1467 requires each school to have a trained LMTS to select quality materials to meet the diverse needs of our learners.  In keeping with that legality, please see Mrs. Carver’s qualifications below!  Also you may peruse the contents of our library at any time at

Mrs. Karen Carver

Meet Mrs. Carver –

Hello parents and students!  My name is Karen K. Carver, I’m the Library Media Technology Specialist at Skyview Elementary School.   I have a BA in Elementary Education from Eckerd College here in St. Petersburg Fl, and an MA in Library and Information Sciences from USF in Tampa.  I am married and have one grown daughter that is also a teacher!  I come from a long line of educators and family that loved to learn.  Fun fact – I live on a boat called Kismet!
