Dear Safety Harbor Learning Community,

I am extremely proud to serve as Safety Harbor Middle School’s principal.  We have been officially announced as an IB World School!  The strength of our school lies in the people and the instructional excellence they provide.  We have dedicated teachers who have a passion for seeing the whole child thrive and are committed to ongoing professional learning. Our teachers are committed to a shared vision of nurturing, inspiring and engaging students to develop critical thinking skills and make connections between subject groups. Our students are learning to be confident, independent thinkers and are engaged in an interdisciplinary framework which focuses on conceptual teaching and learning.  The IB approach to learning is impactful, and will develop students who are competent problem solvers in high school and beyond.  Our students reach their highest potential when they are engaged in learning with an inquiry-based approach, meaning they learn to ask the questions that are important to their learning. Additionally, an IB education includes a very important component: service learning.  Our way of learning is inherently reflective, prompting students to consider how the content affects their life, their community and the world they want to live in.
