    Good Evening Highlanders!

This is Mr. Vasallo, principal of Dunedin Highland Middle School with my weekly update.

Thank you to all of the families that applied to change learning options.  We spent last week evaluating our class sizes and staff will be reaching out all through Friday of this week about your selection.

I also want parents to know that the delivery of student laptops should be scheduled soon.  We are still asking our MyPCSOnline families, to save the date for Saturday October 24th and Monday October 26th as potential distribution dates.  I still do not have an official delivery date, but we are holding these dates in hopes that we receive our delivery this week. More specific information will follow once I am able to confirm our delivery date.  In the meantime, if you want to be ready to pick up a laptop when they arrive, we encourage you to fill out the Laptop parentresponsform DHMS.pdf  available on our website.  After signing it, please email it to our Technology Specialist, Mrs. Rossell at rossellj@pcsb.org

The Pinellas County Schools Referendum is up for renewal. The Referendum boosts reading, art and music programs, provides up-to-date technology and textbooks, and helps recruit and retain quality teachers. Voters have supported the Referendum every four years since its initial approval in 2004. An independent citizens committee oversees Referendum spending to ensure money is spent as voters intended. Every penny of the funding benefits Pinellas teachers and students. For more information, please visit  www.pcsb.org/referendum .

DHMS PTA wants your opinion as we participate in the National PTA School of Excellence Program to enrich the well-being of all students. Please help us by taking this 5 to 10-minute anonymous survey on your experiences at our school by noon on October 30. Thank you!  https://forms.gle/wcSgHL5VM7A4V8e37

If you have questions about the PCS TIPS program, such as needing to pickup a packet, or returning your packet and payment, please contact Ms. Bosco at boscoma@pcsb.org. Completed packets are due back October 22nd.

Tuesday, October 21st is Rays Spirit Day - all students are encouraged to wear their Rays gear to support the hometown team.

Wednesday, October 22nd is Unity Day - all students are encouraged to wear orange to promote Kindness.

Friday, October 23rd is the end of the first marking period.

This is a reminder that Monday, October 26th is a teacher work day.  There is no school for students.

Next week, October 26-30 is Red Ribbon Week and we will have dress us days for each day of the week posted to our website. RRW Flyer - October 2020.docx
