This is Mr. Vasallo, principal of Dunedin Highland Middle School with my weekly update.
We want to thank our parents and families for a great start to testing season. To-date we have tested 95% of our students on FSA Writing! We will have a makeup testing session for our online students on Thursday, April 15th at 10am. Please drop off at 9:45. Please pick up your child by 12:30. All materials will be provided. Students may bring a water bottle. Student cell phones will be collected at the beginning of the session to prevent test invalidation. Social distancing measures will be observed. We will have more state testing sessions for FSA and EOC exams in May and June. Our full testing schedule will be emailed to parents and published on our website tomorrow (Tuesday) evening.

The Summer Bridge Middle School Program Registration is open! Summer Bridge helps students develop and strengthen skills in math, reading, science and social studies, with a blend of technology, small group instruction, manipulatives, hands-on labs and project-based learning. New this summer, students will have the opportunity to take an elective! Course recovery courses will also be offered to eligible students in math, science, social studies and language arts. Transportation is also available this year, along with free Breakfast and Lunch!

Days: Monday - Thursday
Hours: 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

In Sports this week, we have two track meets this week. Coach Flannery and Coach Myers have posted a Track schedule for all meets and practices. The schedule is posted on our website.

Moving forward, if you wish to change your child's current learning option from online (MyPCS) to in person, or from in person to online, please fill out the Learning Option Change Form. Dunedin Highland Middle School staff will reach out within 7 days to discuss potential changes to your student's schedule, including teachers. In order to meet the needs of all learners, there will likely be changes to your student's schedule and/or teachers.

Each year, the Florida Department of Education produces the ESE parent survey, which surveys parents of students with an IEP who receive special education services. The direct link to the survey is www.esesurvey.com . The ESE Parent Survey takes place Feb. 1 through May 31.

If your child rides a bus to school each day, you can keep updated on any issues by signing up for Bus Bulletin. Bus Bulletin will notify you by text, phone call or email if:
- A bus is late.
- A route has changed.
- There has been an accident.

We are continuing our laptop distribution for face-to-face students this week in 7th period. In order for your student to receive a laptop, your student must have:
- Returned the devices they had checked out
- Completed the Laptop Parent Responsibility Form
If you have not completed the form or if your student needs to return their device, please have them bring the form and/or device to their first period teacher so that we can have their laptop ready to be delivered to their 7th period class.

If your MyPCSOnline student has a sub, the teacher will post an announcement in the course that will have the assignment for the day and an attendance link so your student is marked present.
