Degrees and Certifications:

Amy Viegas

I was born and raised in Needham, Massachusetts, but I have lived in Florida since 1980.  I earned my Master’s Degree and attended both USF and Florida State.  My career began with teaching special education for 11 years.  After that I spent 6 years teaching fifth grade.  This will be my sixth year with my Perkins second graders!    I have been teaching at Perkins since 2009. Before that I taught special education at St. Pete Challenge and Clearview Avenue Elementary.

My husband's name is Mike and I have one grown son, Clayton.  My hobbies include playing guitar, boating, making crafts, and playing games with my family and friends. Let me not forget to mention that I have two adorable cats – Gidget and Bridget!

I truly love teaching at Perkins and I am grateful to be here!

Meet Mrs. Viegas!
