I am thrilled to have your child as a part of our musical family and look forward to an exciting and enriching year ahead.Program Overview: At Pride of Perkins Orff Ensemble, we are committed to fostering a love for music, nurturing individual talents, and cultivating a strong sense of teamwork and camaraderie among our students. Through the power of the Orff pedagogy and curriculum, we aim to inspire creativity, discipline, and a lifelong appreciation for the art of music.Mission: Our mission is to provide a supportive and challenging environment where students can explore the world of Orff pedagogy and the Modern Band method, develop their skills as musicians, and grow as individuals. We believe in creating opportunities for personal and artistic growth, promoting a strong work ethic, and building lasting friendships through music.Goals and Objectives: To develop technical proficiency on various instruments, including, xylophone, recorder, body percussion, and singing. To cultivate musicianship skills, such as sight-reading, ensemble playing, and improvisation. To prepare and perform a diverse repertoire of musical pieces, spanning different genres and styles. To participate in local and regional performances, competitions, and community outreach events. To encourage creativity and self-expression through musical composition and arrangement. To foster a sense of responsibility, discipline, and commitment among ensemble members. To instill an appreciation for music as a means of emotional expression and cultural understanding.Rehearsal and Performance Schedule: Enclosed in this package, you will find the rehearsal and performance schedule for the current academic year. Regular attendance at rehearsals is vital to the success of our ensemble, and we appreciate your support in ensuring your child's active participation. More than three absences will automatically mean that your student will be asked to sit out for any upcoming performances.Communication: I believe that open communication is key to a successful partnership between parents, students, and the ensemble. Please feel free to reach out to me via email or phone with any questions, concerns, or feedback you may have. I will also keep you informed through periodic newsletters and updates on our social media platforms.Volunteer Opportunities: We warmly welcome parent involvement in the Pride of Perkins Orff ensemble. There will be various opportunities throughout the year to volunteer during events, assist with fundraisers, and support our students. Your participation is invaluable and greatly appreciated.Financial Information: Enrollment in the Pride of Perkins Orff ensemble requires the one-time purchase of the performance T-shirt. All families will also be asked to involved in the “Family Basket” program. The Family Basket Program is a weekly initiative in the Pride of Perkins Orff ensemble where one family is responsible for providing snacks for the group during rehearsals and performances. The program operates on a rotating basis, allowing each family to contribute snacks for a designated week before passing it on to the next family.I am thrilled to embark on this musical journey with your child, and I am confident that the Pride of Perkins Orff Ensemble will be a source of joy, growth, and inspiration.
