Degrees and Certifications:

Lee Lee Lapointe

Hey Hey… my name is Leanne Lapointe, but I go by Lee Lee (my students call me Miss Lapointe). I was originally born in Rhode Island but spent most of my life in St. Pete & a graduate of The Boca Ciega High School. I have a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from USF, but those that know me, know that I am a die hard Miami Hurricanes fan. GO CANES! I began my career right here at Perkins in 1997 as an ESE associate. After graduating USF, I began teaching at Sexton Elementary in 2003 where I have been for the last 17 years. There I’ve taught grades 2-5 but my love & favorite is 5th grade!
I’m a single mom of an amazingly talented son, Isaiah who had the honor of attending & is an alumni of Perkins.  Outside of school I am an actress, co producer, performer & model here in the Tampa Bay Area, as well as an activist in the community & an active member of the Pinellas County Urban League Young Professionals.
I have a huge love for learning & teaching African American History & Social Justice issues to my students and others. I believe Marcus Garvey said it best, "A People Without the Knowledge of their Past History, Origin, & Culture, is like a Tree Without Roots.”
I’m so excited to be coming back home to the Perkins Family to where my career in education all started.
