The vision of the Belcher Elementary media center is to develop 21st Century Learners, support their creativity, academic progress and empower these students with the resources to be successful independent thinkers and learners.

The library media center has over 10,000 books to help our students begin the journey of reading for life! Reading is a gateway to learning and sharing. The library is a place where a student can get information and inspiration!

The mission of the school library media program is to provide support and resources for our students and teachers to learn in a safe environment. The center encourages reading for lifelong learning, collaborating with others to gain new perspectives, creating innovative ways to demonstrate knowledge and ethical use of information and technology.

Technology use is highly encouraged at Belcher Elementary. Each student at Belcher is assigned a computer or iPad for daily use. Each student in grades 3-5 has the option to take their computer home each evening. Each teacher station is connected to a document camera and SMART board to allow the teacher to create interactive lessons that are more engaging and powerful.  This also allows teachers to interact with new websites, videos and digital content that enhance our curriculum.

The Belcher Elementary morning news show, Belcher Bobcat News (BBN), is broadcast live from the Library Media Center each morning. "Spotlights" throughout the show include News reporters, a daily message from our Principal, Books for Bobcats, Spirit Day, Upcoming Belcher events, the daily weather forecast and lunch menus. Fifth grade students run the show and their technical expertise is awesome!
