Osceola Middle School – Dress Code

Dress Shirts (Short and long sleeve) and Polo’s:
Shirts must be solid in any color. They must fit neatly. Polos are defined as a collared shirt. A small logo (no bigger than 2 inches) is acceptable.
T-shirts:
School approved Osceola Middle School T-shirts and solid colored T-shirts may be worn. T-Shirts must be crew neck and cover all cleavage. They must be worn as intended and not tied up, torn or altered in any way. Solid in color means no graphics, pictures, numerals, slogans, etc. No see through material or excessively tight shirts will be allowed. No midriff or rear skin should be showing when the student is standing or sitting.
Pant/Shorts/Skirts/ Capri’s:
They must be khaki, navy blue, or black, neat in appearance (un-torn), worn at waist (as per state statute) with a belt, and shorts must be knee length (Bermuda shorts/walking shorts). Athletic, nylon or knit type shorts/pants, and are not permitted, with the exception of gym class.
Blue Jeans (pants only):
Blue jeans are allowed as long as they are neat in appearance and they are plain solid blue, full length, free of any wording, embroidery, design, as well as un-torn/un-ripped/no holes/frays.
NO SPANDEX, NO JEGGINGS, NO LEGGINGS, NO SWEAT PANTS, NO JOGGING/ ATHLETIC PANTS, NO PAJAMAS, NO SLIPPERS, NO HOUSE SHOES, NO BANDANAS, NO HATS, NO CHAINS, NO SWEATBANDS, NO YOGA PANTS, NO FANNY PACKS, NO CROSS-BODY PURSES/BAGS
Footwear:
Shoes must have a heel strap or closed back. No flip flops, slides, or crocs.
Outerwear:
Plain sweatshirts, sweaters, and jackets that are solid in color will be allowed. Hoods are not allowed to be worn on the head once a student is on campus.
Belts:
Belts are required when wearing shorts, pants and jeans.
Exceptions:
Students may wear uniform shirts on game days. Students involved in cheerleading, band, chorus, and athletics- may wear their group uniforms on approved designated game days. Attire must be in accordance with Osceola Middle School dress code policy. Cheerleaders will not wear their cheer skirts during the school day.
Personal Protection Equipment (PPE): Face coverings are optional until such a time that the CDC, Florida State Department of Health and Pinellas County Department of Health determine that they are no longer required.
*Exceptions apply to those with documented medical reasons that would prohibit the wearing of a face covering.
You are encouraged to bring your personal mask although OMS will have masks available free of charge.
- All masks containing inappropriate, offensive, disruptive, or advertisement material (including political, social, and religous) prohibited by the Code of Student Conduct and/or OMS Dress Code could be prohibited if it disrupt the learning environment of our students/staff.
Physical Education: As per requirements set by the Osceola Middle School PE Department.
