    Pinellas County High School District Choice Information

     For 8th Grade Parents!

    You can choose up to 5 magnet/fundamental programs.

    You will need your Parent Portal User Name and Password during both time periods.  You can go to any Pinellas County School with your ID and obtain the User Name and Password.

    Key Dates:

    Application Period – January 9th – January 18th

    Acceptance Period – February 13th – February 22nd

    **You have to go back in during this time period to see if your child was offered a seat.

    **You must then accept a seat. If you choose not to accept a seat then at the end of this time period you will lose that seat and your child will automatically be assigned to your Zone High School.

    Free/Reduced Lunch Application

    Parents, you will be able to fill out lunch applications online at www.myschoolapps.com starting July 30thOnline application is in English and Spanish.

    Parents, you can start putting money on children’s accounts at www.myschoolbucks.com you will need your child’s 10 digit local student id number.

    Items to bring with you to complete registration:

    If you are moving from Out of State/County:

    Two proofs of your address - Can be a combination of mortage/lease agreement and/or utility bills (Water, Cable, Garbage).

    Current Shot Record - You can take your out of state shot record to any Pinellas County Health Department and they will transpose it for free onto the Florida Form 680.

    Current Physcial

    Birth Certificate and Social Security Card

    Grades from Previous School

    If you are moving from within Pinellas County:

  •  Volunteer Opportuntities at OMS!

    Front Office - 9am-1pm or 12pm-4pm Monday through Friday

    Job Responsibilities: Answering phones, greeting parents, students and community members, checking in/out students, small alphabetizing or counting projects, etc.


    PTSA - Various days and times

    Jobs: Board Members, Fundraisers, Teacher Appreciation, Family Night Events


    Testing Proctors - Various days and times during the school year

    Job Responsiblities: Assisting teachers with monitoring students taking state-wide tests and end of semester exams.


    Mentors & Tutors - Various days and times throughout the school year

    Job Responsibilities: Mentor students in the Take Stock in Children Scholarship Program, tutor students in the classroom.
