Good Afternoon Chiefs! This is Sue Arsenault.
Tutoring will start on Monday, August 28th and clubs will follow. The list of teachers, subject areas and clubs is listed on our school website: www.pcsb.org/osceola-ms and a yellow piece of paper with the schedule was given to the students on Thursday to bring home.
6th grade parents, you should have received a phone call from the district office regarding verifying your child’s address. We need two proofs of your address in the form of two utility bills or one utility bill and a mortgage or lease agreement or tax verification. Please let the front office know you are verifying the address for a 6th grader. We will make copies for the student record.
You can order your yearbook online starting on September 1st through December 18th at www.yearbookordercenter.com please use order number 0355. Yearbooks are $35 and we will have sales in school in October and again in December.
Reminder our first SAC and PTSA meetings will be on Tuesday, September 5th in the Media Center. SAC will begin at 5:30 with PTSA starting at 6:00. Mrs. Centner, our 6th grade counselor will be speaking to our parents about how to keep your student organized so he/she can have a successful middle school experience. We would also like to remind you if you haven’t joined PTSA you can still send in your membership to the front office. Your membership dues help support mini grants for teachers, 8th grade celebration activities, programs and events throughout the school year for your child. We will have pizza at our September meeting. Everyone is welcome to attend.
Open House for 7th and 8th grade students will be Thursday, September 7th beginning at 5:30.
We will again, this year, continue our Free Dress Code day for those students who have perfect attendance each quarter! Students will receive a letter to bring home and a wrist band the day before to be worn to school on the Free Dress Code day to identify them. Please help us reach 100% attendance each quarter!!
Thanks for your continued support!

Good Afternoon Chiefs!!! This is Sue Arsenault with information for this coming week.
Parents, We are still missing many yellow clinic cards with emergency phone numbers for your child. Please check with your child to see if they have turned it in. If the students have the clinic card it can be turned into their grade level office or the front office.
Volleyball and Cheerleading try outs are this week. Students must have a current physical, a participation form and school insurance before they can start in any sport.
You should have received a phone call from the administration office regarding the Solar Eclipse on Monday. PE classes will not be going outside during the day. Students with classes in the portables will be on rainy day schedule which means all of their classes are in the building. We are asking you to again speak with your child about the dangers of looking at the sun during the eclipse.
Friday, August 25th is School Picture day! Students will be bringing home picture package options. Students must be in dress code for picture day.
Our clubs and tutoring will start soon! We will explain to the students how to sign up during lunches. The tutoring schedule will be posted on the school’s website.
As always, if you have any questions or comments, feel free to contact us. Thank you for your continued support!
Have a great day!

Good Afternoon Parents and Students, This is Sue Arsenault.
The first couple days of school were very productive! Parking continues to be our biggest challenge, but I do have to say that everyone who went through parent pick up did a wonderful job of using both lanes and merging together at the appropriate time. If you are parking in a handicapped space please make sure to have your placard visible and try not to back into the parking space. Please do not park on the grass; if you need to use Osceola High School’s bus lane across the street from our school, please do so.
We are having volleyball tryouts Monday August 21st 4:00-5:30 for both boys and girls. There will be an informational meeting Thursday August 17th from 4:00-4:30pm.
Please bring all your paperwork with you so that you can try out. That would be an up to date physical, a participation form which can be downloaded from https://www.pcsb.org/cms/lib/FL01903687/Centricity/domain/176/pcs%20forms/4-1891-B.pdf and school insurance which must be purchased online: The web address is https://www.hsri.com/K12_Enrollment/Main/default.asp
All three of these items should be given to the coaches on the day of tryouts. Thanks to all of you for your cooperation! We are going to have a fantastic year!
