Weekly Update for the week of December 19th
Good afternoon, Osceola Middle School Families. This is your principal Derrik Craun providing you with your weekly update.
This week, we continue our Semester 1 exams. Students will take exams for their period 2 and 6 classes Monday, Period 3 and 4 classes on Tuesday and Period 7 class first thing Wednesday morning. Exam makeups if necessary will be on Thursday December 22nd and just a reminder there is no school on Friday.
Parents, we still need your help in completing the parent/guardian survey. If you have not already done so, please click the link provided on the email portion of the parent update or by going to www.pcsb.org/survey and select our school for input. We need every family to complete this very important survey. The last day to complete this is Thursday, so if you could complete this as soon as possible, I would greatly appreciate your support. In athletics, we wish good luck to our girls basketball team who plays home Tuesday vs. Lealman and Wednesday play at Largo Middle. Our boys team will away Monday @ Lealman and home Wednesday vs. Largo Middle School. All game times are at 4:30 pm.
Track season will start after we come back from the winter break! Students will need a current regular school physical, the participation form and school insurance. There will be an informational meeting where paperwork can be turned in on January 12th after school. This meeting will last until 5pm. Those students who have already tried out for a sport and turned in all the paperwork will not need to complete anything else. Please don’t wait until the last minute to get a physical if one is needed. Also, we will be offering Flag Football both girls and boys teams after Track season.
This week’s holiday dress days will be wearing blue on Monday for Hanukkah, Wear Green or a Grinch shirt on Tuesday, Tropical Shirt day on Wednesday and Ugly Sweater day on Thursday.

Weekly Update for the week of December 12th
Good afternoon, Osceola Middle School Families. This is your principal Derrik Craun providing you with your weekly update.
This Friday, December 16th is the first day of our Semester 1 exams. Students will take exams for their 1st and 5th period classes on Friday. Our exam schedule is attached to the email message and will continue Monday through Wednesday the following week with Thursday December 23rd being an exam makeup day.
Thank you parents for preparing our students for FAST assessments this week. Our students did a great job as we completed over 97% of our student population already and received results in Math which have shown very impressive growth from the first FAST assessment. I am proud of our students and staff’s effort for having a smooth testing experience. Also, I would like to thank the over 175 students and families that turned out for our Winter Band and Orchestra concert. It was a huge success as our students did a terrific job and have improved tremendously throughout the year with the guidance of our band director Mr. McDuffie.

Our Military Matters drive has been extended until Wednesday, December 13th which is led by our student leadership club. Any non-perishable food items, games, or handmade cards of appreciation of our troops are accepted even if every student just brings in 1 item, it will make a difference. Weekly Update for the week of December 5th

Parents, thank you to everyone who has completed the Pinellas County Schools stakeholder survey. In athletics, we wish good luck to our girls basketball team who plays @ Largo Middle on Tuesday and @ Pinellas Park middle on Thursday. Our boys team will play @ Largo Middle on Monday and Home versus Pinellas Park Middle on Wednesday. All game times are at 4:30 pm.
This Monday and Tuesday mornings, our students in all grades will be taking their 2nd of 3 FAST progress monitoring assessments on December 5th for Reading and December 6th for Math. These assessments will be giving through an extended 1st period both mornings so please remind your child to charge their computers Sunday and Monday evenings. Also taking place Tuesday is our Winter Band and Orchestra Concert beginning at 6pm in our gymnasium.
Thank you for those who continue to donate items for our food pantry as we call always use items especially as we draw closer to winter break. In addition, we have our Military Matters drive until December 6th which is led by our student leadership club.
