Good morning OMS 

Attached you will find updates for the week of September 26, 2022, as we continue to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month.  Thank you for your support of our efforts as I complete my last week as Principal of our amazing School Community!  Dr. Craun will be joining the OMS Family and continuing the great work of providing a variety of academic, civic, and philanthropy opportunities for our students.  Please join us for our September PTSA and SAC meetings Wednesday (weather permitting).  This is a great opportunity to meet our New Principal, Dr. Craun.  Additionally, we will provide wristbands for a dress down day for all students in attendance.  See below for additional updates and information.

1. OMS Student Clubs are seeking business sponsorships to help support our campus student leaders.

Weather Alert:

At this time, there are NO plans to activate hurricane shelters or close schools.  According to the current forecasts, the Tampa Bay region is expected to be impacted by Tropical Depression 9.   It is still too early to define those impacts and we will continue to track the storm over the next couple of days.  Stay tuned to your local media outlets and Pinellas County School communication department for additional updates. 

Additional Important Info:

Extended Learning Program (ELP) opportunities are available for all students in need of Tutoring/Credit Recovery or interested in joining one of our many clubs/organizations (see attached).  If a student needs tutoring they should arrive prepared and on time…  Morning sessions meet at 8 am at the car circle gate and afternoon sessions have a transportation option for safe transport home. If you have any questions regarding ELP, please contact Ms. Scott at scottjes@pcsb.org.

Good morning Chiefs,

Attached you will find updates for the week of September 14, 2022 as we kickoff Start With Hello Week (see attached flier).  Term 1 Progress Reports were published in FOCUS/Portal this week.  Please take a moment to review and monitor your child’s academic progress accordingly.  I encourage you to register your child for the many opportunities we provide through our Extended Learning Program (ELP) if they are in need of Tutoring/Credit Recovery or interested in joining one of our many clubs/organizations (see attached).  If a student needs tutoring they should arrive prepared and on time…  Morning sessions meet at 8 am at the car circle gate and afternoon sessions have a transportation option for safe transport home. If you have any questions regarding ELP, please contact Ms. Scott at scottjes@pcsb.org.

Attached you will find updates for the week of September 12, 2022.  Please take a moment to reflect on the unfortunate 9/11 event that has forever changed our country.  Fortunately, we are a people of resiliency, tenacity, and purpose whom will not be deterred by terrorists who try and infiltrate or disrupt our freedoms.  I am humbled and thankful for the courage of those who have taken the oath to serve our country to protect our constitutional rights.  Please take a moment of silence to remember as you enjoy some Sunday Football!

This is your Principal, Dr. Lowery from Osceola Middle contacting you to share our updates for the week of September 5, 2022.  We are excited about the overwhelming response we’ve received for our Fishing Club…  Please mark your calendar to join us at our 2022 Open House at 6:00 p.m. Thursday, September 8^th.  This will be a great opportunity to meet your child’s Teachers and attain important information on how to support their Middle School experience.  Logistics:  Attached, you will find a copy of a blank schedule to complete with your child to ensure you have a schedule of their classes.  Your son/daughter will also be provided a copy during 7^th Period (Wednesday) to support a smooth start to our event. You will report to their 1^st Period class for a brief announcement and kickoff of the event.  We look forward to seeing you Thursday!

• Take a moment to review the attached newsletter in its entirety because we have many important activities scheduled during the upcoming short week.

Attached is information about the DAP Fairs and Discovery Nights.
