HOW DOES AVID WORK AT OMS?

AVID is an elective class that provides support, strategies, and tutoring for students in the "academic middle." Students shall meet certain criteria to qualify and apply to be considered for the AVID program. Selection is based on state assessment levels, grades, attendance, behavior, and desire to succeed in school. Students are enrolled in at least one advanced level course to increase the rigor in their coursework and put them on the right path to high school and college/career readiness.
