Volunteer Information

Volunteers Needed
Volunteering in your child’s school is important and rewarding, ANY amount of time you can give is appreciated!
Research has shown that student success is directly linked to parental involvement, both at home and school. Grades rise, self esteem grows, and schools improve. If you show how important school is by getting involved, then your student will also feel it is important. All volunteers will be required to fill out a volunteer registration form. Simply complete the form and return it to our office along with a copy of your photo ID (driver's license) for processing.

Cypress Woods Elementary offers many opportunities to volunteer, please see our volunteer interest form for a list and return it to the office. Our Family & Community Liaison will contact you based on your interests.

All Pinellas County School's have a critical need for Mentors and Tutors. For more information and to sign up for free workshops, please visit:

Join our monthly Volunteer Cafe'!
Each month our volunteers get together to work on various classroom projects. We usually meet the 1st Friday of the month: October 3rd, November 7th, December 5th, January 9th, February 6th, March 6th, April 10th & May 8th. Coffee, juice and snacks are provided. It is a great time to meet other C.W.E. Volunteers while helping our teachers stay focused on education by completing their busy work. RSVP is appreciated via email

Interested in becoming a Level 2 Volunteer? This is an optional additional level of background screening that is required when volunteering in a situation where you may be unsupervised with students such as field trip chaperones who are driving, overnight field trips, etc. Please review this link with FAQ's about Level 2 for more information.

Returning Volunteers and Entering Volunteer Hours:
Returning volunteers must re-activate their status in the Focus Volunteer System at the beginning of each school year in order to volunteer in the classrooms, chaperone field trips and more. Also, all volunteers are asked to to record ALL your volunteer hours in the Focus Volunteer System. EVERY hour counts whether you are in the classroom, helping at a special event, working on a project from home or participating in our PTA! These hours are reported to Tallahassee twice a year and show the level of community support at our school, allowing us to maintain 5 Star status!
