    AM class: Monday - Friday, 7:00am - 12:15pm.  
    PM class: Monday - Thursday, 2:15pm - 9:00pm. 
    Mission: The mission of the Barbering program is to prepare students for employment as a Barber with eligibility for Florida State licensure.
    This program prepares the student for licensure from the following:

    Program I120403 consists of a planned sequence of courses:
    Barber 1A – Course COS0160 (320 hours) Students will learn to use safe, sanitary, and efficient work practices; identify, prepare, and perform hair shaping (cutting); and, correct procedures for shampooing, conditioning, and scalp treatments.
    Barber 2A – Course COS0161 (150 hours) Students will identify and perform hairstyles; identify, prepare, and perform mustache and beard designs; and, identify, prepare, and perform on clients with wet sets, thermal styling, and braided styles.
    Barber 3A – Course COS0162 (300 hours) Students will identify, prepare, and perform hairpieces, wigs, and hair attachments; demonstrate knowledge of professional development (employability skills); and, demonstrate required knowledge of Florida law and the Florida State Board of Cosmetology.
    Barber 4A – Course COS0163 (130 hours) Students will identify and prepare hair pieces and hair attachments; identify and perform permanent waving/reconstruction and curl/chemical relaxing; identify and apply temporary/semi-demi permanent and permanent color; and, identify and apply lighteners and specialty color techniques.

    Minimum Satisfactory Academic Progress Requirement:  75%
    Minimum Attendance Requirement:  70%
    Basic Skills Exit Requirement for Program CompletionStudent's competency in computation (mathematics) and communication (reading/language arts) is assessed; required basic skills grade levels are: Computation - 9 and Communication - 9.
