Mr. Mitchell Hunter, Jr.

Coach Hunter received his degree from Jacksonville State University in Jacksonville, Alabama. He is currently working on his Masters in Educational Leadership from the University of West Florida and will graduate in the Fall of 2025.

He has been teaching since 2002 and joined the Osceola Middle School staff in 2021.  Coach Hunter teaches 7th grade Health and Physical Education.  He is the current OMS girls basketball and flag football coach.  He is the "Possible Selves" mentor at Osceola as well.

His philosophy is “The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort and convenience, but where he stands at times of challenge and controversy” - Martin Luther King Jr.

The Health Education class motto is :“Forgiveness is for your own personal benefit and not the benefit of others.”

Coach Hunter played three years of college football at JSU as a walk-on. He is a Veteran of the United States Marine Corps Reserve, and a member of the G.W. Long High School’s 1994 Baseball State Championship Team.
