• Parent and family involvement in a student's education is critical to student success. When parents, teachers and school administrators work cohesively to support the student experience, students are more likely to have higher grades and test scores, attend school regularly, have better social skills, show improved behavior, and adapt well to school.

Pinellas County Schools' Title I Program recognizes that participation of parents in regular, two-way, meaningful communications with school staff that involves the student, addresses learning, and engages the family in school activities is essential to student achievement.

Parents play an integral role in assisting with their child’s learning and are encouraged to be actively involved in their child’s education at school. We believe parents are full partners in their child’s education and should be included, as appropriate, in decision making as well as being an active part of the parent advisory committee.
