Theatre

  • The Theatre Program at the John Hopkins Center for the Arts gives students the opportunity to explore the many facets of performance—acting, directing, design, and technical theatre—while developing confidence, creativity, and collaboration. Our state-of-the-art facilities include a full proscenium theatre with a tech and lighting booth, two costume and makeup dressing rooms, and a connected stage-side classroom.

Under the direction of Mr. Samuel D. Walker Jr., students dive into an exciting blend of coursework and hands-on experiences. From set construction in the tool room to immersive rehearsals and live performances, every aspect of the program helps students build their creative voice and express their stories in unique ways. Engaging classes, collaborative rehearsals, and dynamic performances are the true highlight of the program, as Mr. Walker puts it!
