5th grade families:
The Pinellas County School’s Open Application period begins January 10, 2018, and concludes January 19, 2018. As students and families make middle school decisions for the 2018-2019 school year we highly suggest students and families review all programs, and to visit all middle schools. All middle schools offer unique student learning opportunities. We encourage your child to attend school tours if offered as well.
As an important reminder, all 5th grade students attending a fundamental elementary school receive a feeder pattern priority into a middle school fundamental school, provided the parent makes an application during the January application period, and ranks the fundamental middle school of their choice as their first choice application.” What does this mean? It means if your intent is to progress into a fundamental middle school you must apply! One of the biggest mistakes past 5th grade families have made was to not apply for a fundamental option. Those families made the assumption of a direct entry into a middle school fundamental program without making an application. For other grade level families, there is no need to reapply during the application period January 10 – 19th, 2018 if the intent is to remain at our school.
Should you have further questions feel free to review the District Application Program brochure in the link below. It provides you with a complete directory of application program options, answers to frequently asked questions, and useful dates and times to reference.
