Where can I intern?
You must intern at an animal hospital. This cannot be the SPCA, kennel/daycare, or shelter. It must be an animal hospital.
How do I go about getting an internship?
- Make a list of 10 offices that are convenient to your home location.
- Go into the office IN PERSON. Do not call or have your parent call.
- Bring a resume and letter from Tech High Veterinary
How many hours do I need?
All students need 250 hours and all skills completed. They must be signed off by a CVT or DVM.
When should I start?
We recommend you begin interning the summer going into your sophomore year.
Why do I need to do an internship?
As a student of Tech High’s Veterinary program, it is a goal for all students to receive their veterinary assisting certification. In order for students to receive their certification they must pass all 5 levels, complete 250 hours and skills at an animal hospital internship, and pass the certified veterinary assisting certification exam.
