  • Good evening Warhawk Nation,

Starting Tuesday, May 26, 2020, we will be collecting items that must be returned to the school from underclassmen. Please see the schedule below for your date and time of collection for any Seminole High School items, such as textbooks and library books. If an electronic device, charger, or other tech instrument was distributed to you from the school and you will be returning for next school year, please keep these items through the summer. If you will be leaving Pinellas County Schools, please plan to return the item during your assigned collection time.

These collection times will also serve to distribute any items a student stored in their locker. If you are picking up locker items, please place your students name on a piece of paper and place it in the passenger window.

Please use the chart below to determine your date and time to return your school items.

All vehicles will enter Seminole High School’s bus entrance parking lot near the corner of 131st Street and 82nd Avenue, in our Bus Circle.  The traffic flow pattern will be marked for you.  This is our ONE OPPORTUNITY to collect these important items, so please make plans now to be at Seminole High School for your appointment, based upon the schedule below:

If you are unable to make your appointment window, please email Lee Mortimer, Assistant Principal, at MORTIMERIIIL@pcsb.org, to set up an alternate appointment time.

As we approach the final weeks of school for our underclassmen, please continue to complete the daily attendance check-ins and the final assignments for your courses.  Also, please be sure to check your grades in FOCUS and contact your teacher immediately to discuss options, if there are any concerns.

Parents, please continue to support your student to ensure these following daily tasks are completed each remaining school day:

1.) Check into all classes daily via Microsoft Teams for attendance purposes.
2.) Review all assigned work for each class via Focus and Microsoft Teams.
3.) Complete and submit all assigned work according to the indicated due date.
4.) Check the "Comments" space in the gradebook for each class. Often, teachers will provide instructions for updating and resubmitting work for additional credit.  Our goal is to provide every opportunity for success, and teachers are accepting missed or late work until the final day of school.
5.) Complete and submit missed assignments for credit by uploading to Focus or Microsoft Teams.  When submitting work that is past due, please have your child email their teacher to notify them an assignment has been submitted after the due date and is ready to be graded.
6.) Check in with teachers Monday – Thursday from 2:30 p.m. until 3:30 p.m. and also on Fridays from 8:30 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. for one-on-one assistance in any areas where the student may be struggling or needing assistance.

A note from the Office of Strategic Communications on April 20th

In an effort to preserve traditional commencement ceremonies for our students, the district is working with the Tampa Bay Rays regarding dates in June or July to host graduations if CDC guidelines and the Major League Baseball schedule allow.  We recognize the importance of in-person celebrations and are working diligently to pursue this option. There are many details still to work out and we will provide updated information as it becomes available.

A note from Dr. Grego on April 18th

Today, Governor DeSantis and the Department of Education extended the closure of all school buildings in the state of Florida for the balance of the school year due to the COVID-19 health crisis. I, as your superintendent, and the Pinellas County School Board, believe this to be the absolute right decision. The safety, health and well-being of our students, families, staff and community are of the utmost importance. This means, that Pinellas County Schools will continue with digital instruction for the rest of the 2019-20 school year. I am proud that during the first three weeks of digital learning nearly 98 percent of our students engaged online. That being said, we must all be committed to continuously improve our supports for our students and families with the ultimate goal of reaching 100 percent participation.

  • Installing Microsoft Teams on a Home Computer

There are multiple ways to access the TEAMS program so your child can work remotely on their Digital Lessons.

    • Access TEAMS via the PCSB Clever program. *For High School students, it is best to install the full version of TEAMS to their computer or other digital device. Having the full package allows the student to take advantage of all the tools, whereas logging in via Clever/FOCUS does not.
      • This link will allow you to Access Clever
      • Click on Log In with Active Directory
      • User name and password is your child’s r2.d2 user id and password
      • Once in Clever, locate the TEAMS icon and click to enter

Now, that the program is installed, what’s next?

Please review the Teams - Student Instructions for a basic understanding of the program.

To have a better understanding of Office 365 and the TEAMS program, please review the Parent Guide to Microsoft TEAMS

If technical help is needed during this time, -please call the PCSB Help Desk at 727-588-6060
