Pinellas County Schools earned the top score in Florida and was ranked seventh in the nation for school districts offering the best choices for parents.

The rankings from the Brookings Institution in Washington D.C. are based on 13 categories of policy and practice, including alternatives to traditional public schools, accessibility of virtual courses, the degree of choice and fairness in school assignment, and accessibility of online choice information.

The rankings are part of The Education Choice and Competition Index (ECCI), an annual guide that reviews K-12 school choice in the nation’s largest school districts. Learn more about the rankings here.
