Welcome to Pinellas County Schools

  • Dr. Michael A. GregoI want to extend a special welcome to our new families. It is a pleasure to serve as superintendent of Pinellas County Schools.

Whether you have recently chosen our district or are in the process of making decisions about your child’s education, I want to assure you that Pinellas County Schools is committed to success for all students.

I am proud of so many things about our district, especially the academic, artistic and athletic achievements of our students. Our district is fortunate to have so many talented and hardworking teachers who challenge students to do their best every day. I also take great pride in all of the wonderful opportunities that we offer our students.

We provide a wealth of educational choices, including more than 60 application programs suited to students’ interests, talents and abilities. We offer career-focused programs and award-winning arts and music programs that prepare students to be well-rounded citizens. We also have launched several new programs, and we continue to add exciting and innovative programs based on feedback from our families.

We have greatly increased the number of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) Academies at our schools to better prepare students for the global demands of the 21st century.

Pinellas County Schools is also committed to offering opportunities to extend learning beyond the classroom. We have instituted several programs that provide more time for instruction and offer a variety of digital resources to support learning outside of the classroom.

In addition, I am excited to share that, this year, we are embarking on a plan to expand personalized learning opportunities for students, so that instruction is tailored to how each student learns best.

This is just a sampling of the many opportunities we provide to help ensure that our students are prepared for college, career and life.

I hope you find our website a valuable tool to learn more about Pinellas County Schools and stay connected with your child’s education.
