Students win first place at Odyssey of the Mind world championships
Dunedin Highland Middle School eighth grade team placed first in their division at the Odyssey of the Mind World Finals, which were held recently at Iowa State University. The eighth grade team also won "Ranatra Fusca Creativity Award" which recognizes a team that takes risks and uses tremendous creativity. The school’s seventh grade team won second place in their division.
Odyssey of the Mind is an international educational program that provides creative problem-solving opportunities for students from kindergarten through college. Team members apply their creativity to solve problems that range from building mechanical devices to presenting their own interpretation of literary classics.
The world finals consisted of 65 teams from around the world to include China, Indonesia, Poland and Switzerland.
