Support Employee of the Year named

David Melnick, a food service manager II at Lake St. George Elementary School, was named the 2016-17 Support Employee of the Year for Pinellas County Schools. The announcement was made today at a luncheon that honored all the semifinalists and finalists. Sponsored by Achieva Credit Union since 1994, the luncheon was held at Feather Sound Country Club.

Melnick will now representative the district for the Florida School-Related Employee of the Year. Melnick was selected from a group of 156 nominees that were in five categories: classroom support, clerical, food service, maintenance/safety/health/transportation and plant operations.

Each semifinalist received $100 check and a gift bag from Achieva Credit Union as well as a framed certificate. Each finalist received a $200 check, a banner, trophy, gift bag and a framed certificate.

Below are the semifinalists and category winners. The category winners are highlighted and include a video that demonstrates their impact.
