Science Rocks - April 2017

Science Rocks airs Monday & Friday evening at 7 p.m.
The April 2017 edition of Science Rocks features STEM learning opportunities for Pinellas County students with the University of South Florida, STEM on a Shoe String and the STEM of oceanographic conservation and the Grand Canyon!
In this segment, we preview the upcoming STEM Expo at USF St. Petersburg on April 29th plus, visit the USF Engineering Expo and see how some Pinellas County students are learning about STEM from college students.

In this segment, Laura Spence takes us to a recent District Wide Training where STEM teachers learn some low cost ways to teach STEM.
In this segment from the April edition of Science Rocks, Dave Cook hikes the Grand Canyon and shows us some of the science and STEM of this wonder of the world. Plus, we meet some of the interesting people who test their physical and mental strength in the canyon.
In this segment, we learn about STEM and oceanographic exploration and conservation from some national experts at the Blue Ocean Film Festival in St. Petersburg. We meet a NASA astronaut, National Geographic Explorer, EMMY Award winning documentary film maker and submersible pilot all doing their part to conserve our oceans.
