2017 Tarpon Springs High athlete and graduate honored

Mackenzie Stumpf, a 2017 Tarpon Springs High School graduate, was honored recently by the School Board for her academic and athletic accomplishments.
 
While at Tarpon Springs High, Mackenzie was enrolled in the Cambridge Program and was involved in the Key Club, Mu Alpha Theta and the National Honor Society. As a swimmer at Tarpon Springs High, Mackenzie’s accomplishments were staggering. They include the following:
  • Two-time State Champion in the 200 Individual Medley and 100 Breaststroke
  • Two-time Pinellas County Swimmer of the Year
  • Eight-time District Champion
  • Seven-time Region Champion
  • Broke the 2009 100 Breaststroke record (held by Olympian Melanie Margalis) during the 2016 Pinellas Aquatics Conference
  • Qualified and participated in the 2016 Olympic Trials in the 100 and 200-meter Breaststroke in June, 2016
  • Holds the Tarpon Springs High School record for the 200 Individual Medley and the 100 Breaststroke
  • Received the USA Swimming Scholastic All American Award and the NISCA Coaches Swimming All American award twice
This fall, Mackenzie will attend Dartmouth College in New Hampshire.
