Pinellas County Schools Receives Cenergistic Environmental Excellence Award
Jan. 31, 2019
Cenergistic awarded the district the Environmental Excellence Award for its outstanding achievement in energy and cost savings since implementing Cenergistic’s Sustainability Solution in January of 2015. The district has achieved an energy cost savings totaling more than $20 million since partnering with Cenergistic. This represents a 587,036,471 KBTU savings and is the equivalent of removing 17,326 cars from the road or 2,132,416 tree seedlings grown for 10 years.
“Pinellas County Schools has done a wonderful job of implementing Cenergistic’s energy conservation and sustainability program, as well as maintaining productive efforts at all levels of the organization,” said Dr. William S. Spears, Cenergistic’s chairman, and founder. “I am extremely pleased to present Pinellas County Schools with our Environmental Excellence Award, and look forward to great success in the future as well as a continued mindset of conservation and culture of sustainability.”
The partnership with Cenergistic has reached three main goals: classroom comfort, cost savings and the development of a culture of sustainability among students, staff, and administration, through energy-saving initiatives. The conservation program delivers a significant environmental benefit from a reduced carbon footprint. In addition to Pinellas’ contribution to the environment, the program has allowed the district to direct budgeted utility dollars toward important district needs.
For 33 years, Cenergistic has helped over 1,450 K-12 districts, institutions of higher education, governments, and healthcare facilities find more than $5.3 billion in hidden electricity, natural gas and water savings by applying our advanced Ceres™ software platform and sustainability-as-a-service solutions on their campuses. For ten consecutive years, Cenergistic has been recognized by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) as ENERGY STAR® Partner of the Year.
