Gibbs High School grad earns Tony Award nomination

Pinellas County Center for the Arts graduate Ephraim Sykes has been nominated for a Tony Award for Best Performance by an Actor in a Featured Role in a Musical. The nomination recognizes his portrayal of David Ruffin in "Ain’t Too Proud — The Life and Times of the Temptations."
Sykes has also received Astaire Award nominations in the past for outstanding dancing in "Memphis" and "Newsies" and outstanding ensemble work in "Hamilton."
"Ain’t Too Proud" has earned 12 nominations, including best musical, best book, best direction, best choreography, and best orchestrations.
