Student Services Employee of the Year recognized

Feb. 11, 2020

Lynne Anthony, a social worker at Dunedin Elementary School, was named the Student Services 2019-2020 Employee of the Year. Lynne was recognized at Tuesday’s regularly scheduled Board meeting. Lynne has been employed with the district for 23 years and is a licensed clinical social worker and certified in educational leadership.

Lynne demonstrates leadership skills that go above and beyond her assigned responsibilities.  In her role as a team leader, she has trained and mentored over 30 new social workers, often meeting after hours and on the weekends to support them in their new roles.  She is a recognized school where she oversees the student council, facilitates the Promise Time extended learning program, and works collaboratively with law enforcement to ensure active assailant and other drills are completed in an informative and sensitive manner. She has consistently stepped up over the years to be a districtwide trainer.

Student Services professionals support high achievement by identifying barriers to students' academic success and social-emotional health by providing services that best meet their needs.  Student Services employees include school psychologists, educational diagnosticians, social workers, counselors, health services employees (such as nurses and nurse assistants), prevention staff, and members of the Crisis Response Team.  The Student Services Employee of the Year is nominated by principals or colleagues for outstanding service to students and schools.
