In two years, the district has increased the number of schools recognized as Tier 1 Model Schools by the Florida Positive Behavioral Interventions & Support Project (FLPBIS) from two to 49. PCSB had the third highest number of Model Schools recognized in the state for 2019-2020 school year.
Positive Behavior Interventions and Support is a schoolwide framework that, according to national research, enhances student quality of life and reduces problem behaviors. By establishing this framework, schools are developing skills, making changes to school environments, acknowledging appropriate behavior, and using data to identify supports for students. PBIS Model Schools demonstrate a commitment to positive and equitable outcomes for all students. Congratulations to our schools for achieving Gold, Silver and Bronze FLPBIS Model School status:
