Deadline extended for innovative tech competition for high schoolers
Oct. 2, 2020
Are you innovative? Do you have an idea that could make a difference in the community? If you are a Pinellas County Schools high schooler then the Next Generation Tech 360 Competition is for you! You don’t have to be a technical whiz to participate, just innovative. Next GenTech360 (NGT360) is a 7-month experience for high school students in teams of 3-5. Students develop an idea, attend virtual workshops with outstanding business and technology mentors from the Tampa Bay Area, and work to build a business model and working prototype.
The deadline to register has been extended Oct 26. The program starts Oct. 28.
Think “Shark Tank” blended with “American Idol” with a tech focus! This is a student-driven program from start to finish. Students take on roles such as Project Manager, Business Analyst, Software Developer, etc. Each student team will participate in workshops that will help take their idea and turn it into a product prototype, learning from a diversified group of industry experts. Top teams earn grant money and opportunities to pitch to investors like Shark Tank’s Kevin Harrington. Many students earn internships directly from participating.
