More than 500 Scholastic Art Awards presented to Pinellas students in grades 7-12

The Pinellas County Art Region of the Scholastic Art Awards presented the awards at the virtual ceremony at Gibbs High School on Feb. 10. Each student’s work was displayed and name was called during the live-streamed event.
An exhibition of 218 Gold and Silver Key works was on display in the Grande Theatre Lobby and Gallery. All award-winning art, films and animations can be viewed online in the PCS Student Virtual Gallery.
The Scholastic Art Awards program is the nation’s longest-running, most prestigious educational initiative supporting student achievement in the visual arts.
This year, regional top awards were presented to 11 students for their Gold Key work.The artwork receiving a Gold Key has been forwarded on for national judging.
The PAEA American Visions Nominee Awards

- Joshua Pandey, 11th grade, Clearwater High School
The PAVA Awards of Excellence
- Sponsored by the Professional Association of Visual Arts, each student below received $500:
- Nike Harris, 12th grade, East Lake High School
- Jasmine Lucas, 11th grade, Lakewood High School
- Adria Peter, 12th grade, PCCA at Gibbs High School
- Elise Tuttle, 10th grade, PCCA at Gibbs High School
The Young Masters Art Portfolio Awards
- Sponsored by the Mainsail Art Festival, each student with an award-winning portfolio received $1000:
- Sophie Dery, 12th grade, Largo High School
- Quinn Seetoo, 12th grade, PCCA at Gibbs High School
