District cadets place second at national drill competition

The Clearwater High School Marine Corps JROTC placed second overall at the National High School Drill Team Championships in Daytona Beach, FL.  In addition, the Personnel Inspection Team placed first, the Unarmed Regulation Drill Team placed second and the Unarmed Regulation Drill Team placed fifth.

The Clearwater High cadets had to learn new drill cards and new procedures for the national championships in less than 2 weeks because of a change in scheduling due to COVID-19 concerns.  

The cadets are Leticia Andrade, Jaeden Anzalone, Jett Boggess, Zoe Boggess, Natalliah Bowdoin, Anida Caca, Ethan Cranston, Oswaldo Cruz, Michael Degani, Will Fineran, Tristian Harvey, Anelia Hill, Sydnee Morris, Javier Mut, Angelina Newcomb, Myla Shinn, Isa Sekulovic, Jaden Stomberg, Janos Varga, Isaac Weiser. LtCol Kirk Kumagai, USMC(ret) is the program’s Senior Marine Instructor.
