PCS to offer free full-day VPK at select schools
May 12, 2021
Next school year, 25 sites will provide free full-day Voluntary Prekindergarten programs. Families can apply now for VPK for the 2021-2022 school year.
VPK is a state-funded program that prepares children for kindergarten. Children must be 4 years old on or before Sept. 1 of the school year in which they are enrolling.
At all VPK programs, students attend free for three hours each day, Monday through Friday. However, next school year, 25 elementary schools will offer a full-day, six-hour program for free.
To attend VPK, students must have a Certificate of Eligibility from the Early Learning Coalition. Please visit www.vpkpinellas.net to apply for the certificate.
