May 27, 2021 – Get Paid for Grades is a nonprofit aimed at motivating and supporting students.
Good grades did pay off for students at Boca Ciega, Hollins and Lakewood high schools. Eighty-eight students received $500 each from the Get Paid for Grades program. In addition, their mentors received $400 and their schools received $100 for each student who completed the program. There were 49 students from Boca Ciega, 21 from Hollins, and 18 from Lakewood high schools.
Boca Ciega High recognized its students Wednesday. Hollins High will have its ceremony Tuesday, June 1 and Lakewood High, Tuesday, June 8.
Get Paid for Grades is a not-for-profit organization supported by local businesses in the Tampa Bay area, working in partnership with the Pinellas Education Foundation. The program was founded by Monica Eaton-Cardone, the owner of ChargeBacks911. Its goal is to foster students so that they can have the skills and confidence they need reach their potential, both academically and socially. The ultimate goal is to set students on a path toward professional and personal success throughout their lives.
To receive the $500, the students had to meet or surpass certain academic benchmarks, complete the life skill training courses, and maintain satisfactory attendance throughout the program semester.
