Pinellas educator recognized for excellence in economic education

The award, sponsored by the Florida Council on Economic Education and Gus A. Stavros Center for Free Enterprise and Economic Education at the University of South Florida, honors outstanding finance and economic educators throughout Florida.

Schuster, who chairs the Social Studies department at Bayside High School, has recently become a Truist Academy of Free Enterprise Education Fellow through the Gus A. Stavros Center. Schuster is a Pinellas County Schools Equity Champion, and, in January, he led students in the Unity Walk in Clearwater.

REEL Awards program recipients have demonstrated outstanding competency in integrating financial literacy, moral foundations of capitalism, entrepreneurial thinking and other economic education concepts with their K-12 curriculum. They also have attended professional development programs offered through the Gus A. Stavros Center.
