Kathy Biddle was at a loss for words when they gave her the news Friday afternoon. Mrs. Biddle was told that Clearwater High School’s newly installed turf football field will be forever named in her honor. It will now be called the Katherine H. Biddle Field at Jack White Stadium. It is the first football field in the county to be named after a female.
For more than 42 years, Mrs. Biddle has been a part of Clearwater High School. She has been a physical education and social studies teacher. She was a track, cross country and cheerleading coach where she garnered much success. She won eight district championships, eight conference championships, four regional championships, and made several state tournament appearances. Biddle even attended Clearwater High as a student.
Mrs. Biddle has worked tirelessly at Clearwater High. In addition to teaching and coaching, she is the Athletic Director, the school’s Graduation Coach, and for the last 20 years she has served as the Senior Class Sponsor and Graduation Coordinator.
A group of supporters were there Friday to share the surprise to include her husband, Superintendent Dr. Michael Grego, current and former Clearwater High principals and assistant principals, as well as the current and former district athletic directors.
