District teacher given prestigious award from Yale University
Sept. 8, 2021
Robert Lynch, a Boca Ciega High School mathematics teacher, was selected as a recipient of the 2021 Yale Educator Award by the Yale University Office of Undergraduate Admissions. The award recognizes educators from around the world who inspire and support their students to perform at high levels and to achieve excellence.
Students entering the Yale Class of 2025 were asked to nominate outstanding educators who have deeply impacted their lives. Lynch was nominated for the award by his former student Emma Polinsky. He was then selected as a winner by a committee in Yale University’s Office of Undergraduate Admissions.
Of this year’s 305 nominees, who represent 38 US states and 17 countries, 50 teachers and 21 counselors were selected to receive the award. In addition to a congratulatory letter, each Yale Educator Award winner also receives an engraved desk set.
