The documentary team from Dunedin Highland Middle School - William Kent, Naveen Yengera and Owen Toal - progressed to the national competition after earning 2nd Place in the Junior Group Documentary category at the Florida History Day competition.
On June 18, National History Day® (NHD) presented the awards for the contest in a virtual, live-streamed ceremony. Students created projects related to the theme Debate & Diplomacy; Successes, Failures, Consequences.

Dunedin Highland Middle School student Ayden Khalil, a Florida History Day first-place winner for a Junior Individual Website, also had the opportunity to compete in the national competition.
The National History Day Contest encourages more than half a million middle and high school students throughout the world to conduct original research on historical topics. Students present projects at the local and state levels, and the top two projects from each category progress to the National History Day Contest.
