Twenty-two PCS students named National Merit Scholarship semifinalists
Sept. 19, 2022
The National Merit Semifinalists have been announced. Twenty-two Pinellas County Schools students are semifinalists in the annual National Merit Scholarship Program.
The students are among approximately 16,000 semifinalists. They will compete for 7,250 National Merit scholarships worth almost $28 million.
The nationwide pool of semifinalists makes up less than one percent of all high school students. The students attained semifinalist’s stature through the scores they attained on the 2021 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT). In the spring, the National Merit® Scholarship Program will begin announcing 2023 scholarship winners.
