The Palm Harbor University High School girls’ soccer team won the Regional Championship last night with a 5-4 shoot-out win over previously undefeated Lakewood Ranch High School. The game was tied 1-1 going into overtime when the Hurricanes won the shoot-out 4-3 for the win on their home turf.

The girls will host Boca Raton High School on Friday night in a state semi-final match at 7 p.m. If they win Friday, the team will head to Deland to play for the 7A State Championship game scheduled for 7 p.m. Feb. 24 at Stetson University.

Both the Osceola and East Lake boys’ soccer teams are competing in their regional championship games tonight. Osceola plays at 7 p.m. at Naples for the 5A regional championship and East Lake plays at 7 p.m. at Ft. Myers for the 6A regional championship.
