Douglas L. Jamerson, Jr. Elementary combined its 20th anniversary celebration with its annual engineering expo Thursday, for a jam-packed evening of activities and recognitions. The school held a ribbon cutting for its new mural commemorating the anniversary as well as honored music teacher Marie Hill for being named a Magnet Teacher of the Year Finalist and celebrated Jamerson being named a Certified Demonstration Magnet School by Magnet Schools of America. The evening also included a “Jammers” performance, engineering exhibits throughout campus and a 20-year photo timeline.
