The Island Estates Women’s Club awarded $33,000 in scholarships to 10 Clearwater High School graduates at its annual Scholarship Awards luncheon on May 16 at Bon Appetit.
The Clearwater-based women’s club has awarded scholarships to young women each year since 1997 through their IEWC Charitable Trust Fund, the Rita O’Neil Memorial Scholarship Fund, the Marie Wadsworth Memorial Scholarship Fund and the MDA Fund. Recipients must excel academically, have community service hours and submit letters of recommendation. Since its inception, 110 scholarships have been awarded.
