Eighth-grader Sophia Leung won the competition for her acrylic and colored pencil work titled "Feeling as Sweet as an Orange."
The Art in the Capitol Competition is a statewide visual arts competition for students in grades 6 through 8. The winning artworks from each school district are displayed in the Capitol in Tallahassee during the regular legislative session from Jan. 9 through March 8, 2024.
The theme for Pinellas this year was “Why I Love Florida.”
Sophia met with State Rep. Adam Anderson at the District 57 Office last week.
