Feb. 15, 2024

Award Winners

The 2024 Pinellas County Art Region of the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards honored 324 middle and high school students with 454 awards.

Students were presented with Honorable Mention, Silver Key, and Gold Key awards during a reception and ceremony in the Grand Theatre at Gibbs High School on Feb. 8.  Each student had the opportunity to take the stage while their artworks were projected onto large screens.

All award-winning artwork, films, and animations are posted online in the PCS Student Virtual Gallery.

Each work receiving a Gold Key award has been forwarded to the national competition for adjudication. Now in its 101st year, the Awards program is the nation’s longest-running, most prestigious educational initiative supporting student achievement in the visual arts.

During the ceremony, 26 students received top local awards from the Mainsail Art Festival “Young At Art,” Raymond James Financial, Mahaffey Apartment Company, Pinellas Art Education Association (PAEA), Professional Association of Visual Artists (PAVA), Art Festival Beth-El, and the Suntan Art Center.
