More than 60 Exceptional Student Education scholars representing 54 schools were celebrated at the annual Yes, I Can! Awards breakfast this morning at Ruth Eckerd Hall.
Elementary through high school students were recognized in categories such as academics, independent living skills, self-advocacy, technology, the arts and employment by the Council for Exceptional Children and Pinellas County Schools ESE Department.
The CEC Suncoast Chapter 176 has a mission to improve educational outcomes for individuals with exceptionalities.
School Board members Caprice Edmond, Eileen Long and Superintendent Kevin Hendrick attended the event.
