PCS students earn top awards in the Gasparilla Festival of the Arts high school exhibit

March 19, 2024

Pinellas students won two of the three top awards in the Gasparilla Festival of the Arts high school exhibit. Seven district students were selected for the Vinik Family Foundation Young Artists Expo, which took place in early March.

Lakewood High School student Cora Ross won for her photograph titled “She’s Like a Rainbow,” and Gibbs High School student Natalie Galan won for her drawing titled “Oxymoron of Identity.”

Each student will receive a $1,000 scholarship, and their school’s art programs will receive $2,000 from the Vinik Family Foundation.

The Gasparilla Festival of the Arts invited six Tampa Bay school districts to submit top 2-D and 3-D artworks for the Young Artists Expo. See a list of Pinellas students and their artworks.
